WELDING TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and teach courses offered in the Welding Technology Program in both the college and high school program
- Prepare and communicate clear education objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to the students
- Work with representatives of local industry to further the program and enhance the instructional resources
- Facilitate and coordinate support services for students and industry regarding school-to work and cooperative learning activities
- Attend advisory committee meetings
- Participate in recruiting and advising activities
- Work may require split day and evening work schedule
- Other duties as assigned by Midland College Administration
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Associate degree in Welding or equivalent
- Three to five years work experience in welding
- Strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, presentation skills, computer skills, management skills
- Must show English proficiency both written and oral
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area
- Community college and/or high school teaching experience
- Established relationship with the local welding community with seven to ten years related work experience and AWS certifications
SALARY
Salary commensurate with education and experience. Excellent fringe benefits. This is a 10 month position starting August 1, 2008.
