ENGINEERING TEACHER

FOR SUMMER UPWARD BOUND PROGRAM

This is a part-time position. Summer dates for program are June 9 – July 11, 2008, approximately 2-4 hours per week. The teacher will work with Upward Bound students to develop knowledge of Engineering careers and educational opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with a small group of Upward Bound high school students
• Plan summer program curriculum for engineer class
• Assist Academic Coordinator in evaluating student progress

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have access to all equipment needed for class
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering profession required
• Previous experience working with under-represented high school students
• Excellent role model for students
• Preference given to candidates who are from a low income and first generation college student background

SALARY:

$21.00 per hour for Bachelor’s degree; $29.00 per hour for Master’s degree. Position funded through a grant. Two to four hours per week.
