| The Giving Process
The Midland College Foundation values every gift and handles each one professionally and efficiently.
- We convert the gift to cash.
Non-cash gifts (securities, real estate, personal property) are converted to cash promptly, unless prevailing market conditions indicate that a delay will secure a better selling price.
- We send a receipt.
We mail a receipt and thank-you note for every gift within two working days. Receipts provide the donor with proof of tax-deductibility.
- We place the gift in an account.
Every gift goes into an endowed or non-endowed account as specified by the donor. The foundation disburses funds from accounts as defined by the donor.
- We do not charge an administrative fee.
The foundation does not apply an administrative fee, which allows 100% of your gift to be used as you delegate.
- We disburse funds to Midland College.
If the gift is non-endowed, the foundation disburses the entire gift as designated by the donor. If the gift is endowed, we invest it until there is sufficient income to fund the endowed program.
