Alfredo Chaparro is the director of Community Services at Midland College. Mr. Chaparro has extensive experience in overseeing programs funded by grants from the local, state, and federal levels. Mr. Chaparro has received bachelor's and master's degrees in Accounting. Mr. Chaparro was a CPA until September 2001 when he decided not to continue his licensure because he has chosen higher education administration as his career path. Mr. Chaparro's work experience includes Internal Auditor for a national bank, Accountant for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and Inventory Control Specialist for a small manufacturing company. Mr. Chaparro has served on the boards of Midland Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA), Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (Director of Economic Development), and Midland Housing Finance Corporation (Treasurer).
Betsy Fredericks is the Associate Director of the Midland College BEDC. She was a counselor for the Midland College BEDC for nearly two years before assuming the responsibilities of the BEDC Coordinator in November 2003. She has a bachelor’s degree from LSU and an MBA in Management from UTPB. Her prior work experience includes 11 years of training/teaching, three years of retail management in which she supervised a staff of 60, and eight years of business ownership experience. Currently she is a member of Midland Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA) and the Midland Asset Building Coalition. Betsy is President of the board of directors for SHARE; Sharing Hands, a Respite Experience.
Paul McCord is a business, credit, and certified housing counselor for the BEDC. Paul is a certified homebuyer education trainer. Paul has been a self-employed Business Development Strategist and Consultant for the past seven years. He has sixteen years of business ownership experience. Paul is the author of two bestselling business sales books, with another book out in the fall. He has authored over 100 articles published in media such as Business Week, Entrepreneur, Forbes, Reuters, and others. Paul has eleven years of banking and mortgage management experience. Paul has a bachelor's degree in Literature and Philosophy from Texas A & M Commerce.
Celia Molina Roux is a bilingual business, credit, and certified housing counselor for the BEDC. Celia is a certified homebuyer education trainer. Celia has over 25 years of experience in various business positions including eight years as a small business owner State Farm Agent. Celia has a Bachelor of Business Administration from UTPB and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Tulsa.
Nancy Quintella is the BEDC Project Assistant. She has an Associates in Business Administration. Nancy has 15 years experience as an Assistant from her previous work experience at the Midland College/Williams Regional Technical Training Center (WRTTC) in Fort Stockton, Texas.
