Kudos & Accomplishments

Guest Speakers in Dr. Pamela Howell's ENGL 1302 Class
Dr. William Feeler, dean of the Fine Arts and Communications Division, was the guest speaker in Dr. Pamela Howell's English 1302 campus classes on Feb. 18.  Dr. Feeler spoke on the process of writing poetry as well as some of his poems studied by the classes.

In addition, Jimmy Patterson, writer and journalist from Midland, will be guest speaker on March 6, reflecting with students on the process of writing fiction and on his latest novel being studied by the classes and coauthored with Midland attorney Tom Morgan.

The guest speakers have been coming to Dr. Howell's English 1302 classes for the last two years in her efforts to "make real" the process of writing to her students "by real people" and allow the students direct contact with such creative writers in their immediate community. Other guest writers in the past include English faculty Brendon Egan.
