Grants

Just a reminder:  If you are working on a grant please let Annie Stanger, MC grants specialist, know.  Also, if and when you receive any updates or new information on grants in process please send Annie a copy of that documentation for the grant file in the Institutional Advancement Office.

Strategies of Behavior Intervention

Please be advised that the Strategies of Behavior Intervention (SOBI) was created to identify students who may be experiencing difficulties. The purpose of SOBI is to be preventative in nature. Submitting a SOBI report allows for Midland College to assist these students in getting the help they need, while protecting innocent others.

Please be aware that incidents may not be isolated. The SOBI reporting process allows Midland College personnel to collaborate information and get a view of the bigger picture when a student may have issues in several areas on campus.

SOBI reports can be found on the Midland College website. The following link will take you to the SOBI page:  www.midland.edu/sobi

Special Events Fundraising

As a reminder, any special events hosted by clubs, departments or organizations on campus must get approval through the Institutional Advancement Office.  Those approvals must now be requested at least 1 month prior to the event date.  Also, if your event includes a silent or live auction you must now fill out the Special Event Fundraising Form, in addition to the Solicitation Report. (Adobe .pdf files)  Both forms can be found on the shared drive.  With an increased number of event requests being made in the last few months, procedures have been tightened on how fundraising is managed in order to keep from overlapping on our donors and friends in the community.  Please do not hesitate to call Erin Tresner, 685-4519, with any questions/ concerns.

Who's Who
Please think of a deserving student to nominate to Who's Who.  They should have at least a 3.00 GPA and have at least 30 semester hours.  Submit forms (Adobe .pdf file) to Shep Grinnan by February 22.

Alumni Relations Telephone Number
The Alumni Relations office (J. Don Wallace) now has a phone and may be reached by calling 685-4765.
