The Cogdell Learning Center (CLC) is an off-campus outreach site located on the south side of Midland.
The CLC houses the Business and Economic Development Center (BEDC) and Community Programs for Midland College. Additionally, the CLC hosts Adult Literacy courses, the Mexican Consulate, and is available for booking for community events.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Midland College Adult Education & Literacy offers FREE ESL classes that provide students with the opportunity to improve their speaking, reading, writing, and listening English language skills.

GED®/TXCHSE CLASSES

GED® CLASSES ARE FREE!
Online & In-Person Courses Available
 
  • Classes are for people 17 years of age and older who have not completed high school and preparing to take the Texas Certificate of High School (TxCHSE) test, formally known as the GED® test.
  • Students who are 16 years of age may attend with a court order.
  • Students are given instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science.

The Cogdell Learning Center’s facilities can be booked for use by the community. A variety of entities have used our rooms, lobbies, and outdoor areas. Our facilities can be used for free or at a charge, depending on the purpose of the booking.

The Midland College Business & Economic Development Center (BEDC) provides FREE business, credit, and housing counseling, and related classes and workshops. Our mission is to help people increase credit scores, purchase homes, and start or expand businesses.

Established in 1992, the Cogdell Scholarship was made possible through the generosity of Bill Pace Cogdell, a local businessman whose wish was to help residents of South and East Midland pursue a college education.

Cogdell Scholarship

Midland College, through the Cogdell Learning Center, offers Personal Enrichment on-line and in-person courses, Kids’ College courses, and College Classics courses for those age 50 and over.

Community Programs

Throughout the year, the CLC hosts the Mobile Consulate from the Consulate of Mexico in Presidio, TX.

Appointments are required to receive consular services during the visit and appointments must be made through the following:
