In Memory of Billy Glen Davis:

For many years, Billy Glen Davis, Jr., served as one of the volunteer instructors for Midland College's College Classics program. The Midland College family was saddened to learn of his death on October 29, 2011.

Davis moved to Midland with his parents and siblings as a young boy in 1952.  He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1963 and attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin and English and a Master of Science degree in planning administration.

After enjoying a long career as a Program Specialist at the Office of Procurement for the Department of Human Services in Austin, Mr. Davis retired in 1998 and then taught computer programming at Austin Community College.  Upon returning to Midland in 2001, he began teaching American Indian History for the College Classics program.  His extensive background in Cherokee, Choctaw and Creek heritages provided students with exciting information about the arts, culture and history of Native Americans.  The Midland College, College Classics program fondly remembers on e of its most beloved instructors
