Suggested Semester Plans

Criminal Justice / Law Enforcement Options

If you are following the Associate of Science - Criminal Justice degree option at Midland College, this semester plan is SUGGESTED.

This plan is based on three factors:

1:   you begin your studies at Midland College in the Fall semester;

2:   you are a full-time student, and not working more than 15 hours per week;

3:   you have passed all three parts of the TSI (THEA; COMPASS) test and are  not required to take remedial courses.

Fall Semester - year one:

CRIJ 1301; ENGL 1301; SPCH 1315; MATH 1314; GOVT 2301; KINE activity course (KINE 1100, 1101, 1102 or 1103)   (16 semester hours)

Spring Semester - year one:

CRIJ 1306; CRIJ 1310; ENGL 1302; VPA Elective; GOVT 2302; (15 semester hours)

Fall Semester - year two:

CRIJ 2313; CRIJ Elective; Natural Science Elective; HIST 1301; SOCI 1301 or PSYC 2301; (16 semester hours)

Spring Semester - year two:

CRIJ 2328; HUMA Elective; Natural Science Elective; HIST 1302; (13 semester hours)

If you are not a full-time student, or have not satisfied the requirements of the TSI (THEA / COMPASS) test, you should contact the Criminal Justice Program Coordinator or the Division Dean to develop a semester plan that fits your schedule.

Spring Semester - year two:

CRIJ 2328; CJSA 2323; C. J. Specialty Elective*; PSYC 2301; Humanities / Fine Arts elective (15 semester hours)

* Specialty elective may be CRIJ, CJSA, CJLE, CJCR, HMSY or LGLA courses; contact faculty for approved courses from each area

Semester two:

CRIJ 1306; CRIJ 1310; CRIJ 2328; C. J. specialty elective (12 semester hours)
