TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The Midland College women's basketball team finished a three-day road trip to Idaho with a 2-1 record after defeating Mesa (Ariz.) Community College 71-49 on Saturday.
The Lady Chaparrals (5-1) took control of the game early and never slowed down in racking up the 71 points. Lauren Mansfield led the charge with 18 points and Titania Simmons added 12 in the victory.
"I was concerned about our energy as much as anything because we expended a lot of energy (against College of Southern Idaho) on Friday," MC coach Ron Jones said. "In the first half we did a great job of playing hard, set the tempo and got down the floor."
Midland College will return to the floor next Thursday against Western Nebraska in Colorado Springs, Colo.
