Chaparral Team Success

Midland College is one of the winningest Juco programs in the country. Over the 33 year life of the program, Midland has won 74% of its games (795-284 overall) and averaged 25 wins per season. Under Head Coach Grant McCasland, the Chaps have continue the program's unprecedented success on the floor. Midland has averaged 29 wins per year over the past five seasons and has won 82% of its games (143-32) over that span. Last year, the Chaps won 89% of their games (33-4) which was the highest winning percentage in Midland history.

Playing in the WJCAC, the toughest junior college conference in America, makes every night a battle and despite the difficulty, the Chaps have been one of the elite teams in the conference every year. With a lifetime conference record of 354-156 (69% games won), Midland has battled for the league championship since the program began. Under Coach "Mac" the Chaps have a WJCAC record of 58-17, a 77% winning percentage. The Chaps have won three conference championships and has finished in the top 3 in the league every season.

The Chaps seem to play their best basketball when it really matters: Tournament Time. Over the past six seasons, Midland has won one national championship, played in the national championship game twice, advanced to the National NJCAA Tournemant four times and made five Region V Finals appearances. Since 2004, the Chaps are 26-5 in the Region V and NJCAA Tournaments including a 3rd place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament in 2004, an elite eight appearance in the NJCAA Tournament in 2005, the 2007 National Championship and a berth in the National Championship game in 2009.
