The #4 Midland College Chaparrals improved their record to 20-1 and 7-0 in WJCAC conference play with a 75-47 win last night over conference foe New Mexico Military Institute. The Chaps were sluggish and rusty in the first half and went into the break up six.
MC came out of the gate in the second half intense and on fire, using their stifling defense to trigger a big run and put the game out of reach. Sophomore guard Greg Hill's intensity on both ends led the charge for the Chaps and he ended the game with 16 points and 4 rebounds. The paint was dominated by Kavon Lytch who finished with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the contest.
The Chaps have their conference bye this Thursday and will return to action at home next Monday, January 26th against Frank Phillips College.
