The Dual-Credit Enrollment Program at Midland College
CHAPS
A dual-credit course is a college course taken by a high school student for which the student earns both college and high school credit at the same time. All courses are taught at the high school campus during high school hours. Most academic dual-credit courses are fully transferable to public colleges and universities in Texas and generally transferable to other colleges and universities throughout the United States.
CHAPS (the dual-credit enrollment program at Midland College) is designed for junior- and senior-level courses. Sophomores are allowed to participate on a limited basis when an approved foreign language course is being offered. The class load cannot exceed two college credit courses per semester without permission from the Vice President of Student Services at Midland College.
