Graduating Sophomore Scholarship application are available at the Midland College Financial Aid Office at the beginning of the spring semester each year. Only those students that will be graduating during the current spring semester and meet the individual scholarship criteria will be considered for these scholarships. The selected scholarship recipients are announced during the May Commencement Ceremony therefore, scholarship applicants must attend.
Abell-Hanger Continuance Education Scholarship (CES): Each student selected for this scholarship may receive up to $6,250 per semester to attend a college or university. Recipients must graduate with an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree from Midland College, be a Midland Legacy: Special, GED or SIP scholarship recipient while studying at Midland College, demonstrate financial need and have a 3.0 or higher GPA. As long as the student maintains his or her grades, continues to complete community service hours and demonstrates financial need, the student will remain eligible for the scholarship for four semesters after graduating from Midland College. Student must attend an in-state public institution. ECS Scholarship Applications are also available in the Midland College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for this scholarship is April of each year.
Abell-Hanger Endowed scholarships for UTPB and Sul Ross: Student must be a current Abell-Hanger Scholarship Recipient in good standing with Minimum 3.0 GPA. Each
applicant must be accepted for regular admissions at
UTPB or Sul Ross prior to applying for the scholarship. Recipients may not be receiving the Fasken Foundation Scholarship or The Permian Honor Scholarship. The amount of the award varies, not to exceed tuition and fees, renewable for 2 years or 4 semesters. A-H Endowed Scholarship Applications are also available in the Midland College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for this application is April of each year.
Leonardo B. and Eva Carrasco Commitment to Education Scholarship: Applicants
must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA, be a resident
of Texas, and plan to attend an accredited college or
university in the U.S.A. Recipients will be required
to study in an approved degree program and remain unmarried.
The award amount is $500 per semester maximum and is
renewable for two years or four semesters. Carrasco Scholarship
Applications are also available in the Midland College
Financial Aid Office. Deadline for this scholarship is April of each year.
Fasken Foundation Endowed Scholarship: Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a resident of Midland County and a U.S. citizen, and demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA. Recipients
of the Scholarship must enroll full-time at a 4 year
college or university in Texas and remain unmarried.
The award amount is $1,500 per semester and is renewable
for two years or four semesters. Fasken Foundation Scholarship
Applications are also available at the Midland College
Financial Aid Office. Deadlines for this scholarship is April of each year.
