The Charles, Lela and Mary Slough Foundation Scholarship

Mr. Charles Gordon Slough established the Charles, Lela and Mary Slough Foundation by means of establishing a trust fund with the Bank of America. This charitable trust fund was established for the express purpose of helping needy students from Texas attend college. It was the intent of Mr. Slough that the fund be perpetual in nature and would continue to grow and to provide funds for needy students. Mr. Slough's original contribution has grown over the years so that in December of 1999 the foundation was able to provide scholarship donations in the amount of $180,000 state wide. These donations were made available to 18 different Texas colleges and Universities in the amount of $10,000.00 each.
