MIDLAND COLLEGE ABE
CLASSROOM GUIDELINES

1. All students must sign in when entering the classroom for lessons. Students must sign their names opposite the printed name on the sign-in list. If a student name does not appear on the list, print name in an empty space on the last page of the sign-in sheet for that day.

2. Students will receive (1)ONE 15-MINUTE BREAK DURING THE DAY. Unauthorized, extended or excess absences from the classroom will be noted and may result in disciplinary actions.

3. Loitering in the hallways or outside the facility will not be allowed.

4. Please respect your fellow students. Try to keep conversations at a low volume. Cell phones are to be placed on vibrate while student is in class. Cell phone calls are to be taken outside of the classroom.

5. Students will be assigned to a particular computer. Changing computer assignment must be approved by an instructor.

6. Music is not to be played through the computer. Any student desiring music must provide their own self-contained player.
Music must be kept at a low volume to avoid disruption of class. Music must be turned off during classroom instruction or guest-speaker activity.

7. Food and drink are not allowed at the computer stations for any reason.

8. The student is responsible for cleaning up his/her own mess. Litter is to be picked up and properly disposed of before the student leaves the room.

9. Children of students will not be allowed in the classroom

10. Printer use will be restricted. Ask an instructor for permission to print any material, or to get copies of any material.

11. The computers are cleaned weekly. Do not save any material to the computers without permission from instructors. If you need to save any material, email it to yourself or save to a disk/flash drive.

12. Do not touch, write on, or move monitor screens

13. Do not disconnect any part of the computer system.

14. Do not attach anything to the computer system, with the exception of a USB/flash drive.

15. Do not change the settings on the computer system

16. Do not download or install any programs, files, or services to the computers.

17. Unauthorized internet use is forbidden. Use of the internet without permission is grounds for immediate expulsion from the ABE program.

The equipment and resources at this facility have been provided for your educational benefit, and are to be used solely for educational purposes.

Midland College is an educational facility. All persons in this facility and/or on the grounds of Midland College will conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to an educational facility.
