The only variation in the cost of the course will be based on how long the student has lived in Texas and Midland County. Currently there are 27 hours of college credit, 12 hours in the fall semester and 15 hours in the spring semester. As you can see, this definitely makes the student full-time. Full-time status qualifies the student for financial services help with loans, scholarships, grants, and Veterans benefits.

We will be using IFSTA "Essentials of Fire Fighting" by IFSTA. This price of this text is approximately $50 depending on where the text is purchased.

The student is responsible for providing his or her own personal protective equipment. (This is the outter garments you see firefighters wearing for protection). This equipment may be bought as used items, but these must meet a rigorous inspection to pass. New gear will be approximately $975-$1000.00. You may contact us for a suggested list of vendors who supply this equipment.
